Professor Kharat is a professor and former Chairperson of the Centre for South Asian Studies, School of International Studies, JNU, and former Chief Advisor to EOO, JNU, New Delhi. He graduated from the University of Poona, Pune, and completed his MPhil and Ph.D. from the Centre for South Asian Studies JNU, New Delhi. He has been actively engaged in teaching and research for more than thirty years in the Universities and guided more than 30 Ph.D. students initially at the Dept of Civics and Politics, University of Mumbai, and then at South Asian Studies, JNU, New Delhi. He has authored and edited more than 10 books and 30 plus research articles in various international and national peer-reviewed journals published by Anthem, Blackwell, Palgrave McMillan, Oxford, Routledge, Sage, Springer Nature, and a few Indian publishers too on contemporary issues of South Asia, especially Himalayan region. He is also Chief Editor of Three interdisciplinary Online Research Journals namely, Sambhashan (in English), Shodhavari (in Hindi), and Sambhashit (in Marathi) published by the University of Mumbai.
He has also served the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Maharashtra Public Service Commission, and many other institutes and organisations of the Central Government in different capacities. Recently appointed as ‘Visitor’s (H E President of India) Representative at the Executive Council of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar.
Dr Shivaji Kumar has a PhD in Political Science from the Ohio State University, US. He is a senior technology policy analyst in the United States and combines a unique blend of academic and industry experience in the fields of international relations and technology standards. He has led initiatives to develop and purchase accessible and secure technologies in sectors in the government, higher education and corporate sector. An expert on international technical standards of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Dr Kumar consults on how to comply with regulations of the American Section 508, European EN301549, and Accessibility Canada Act. He also assists clients with developing and delivering communications in the face of accessible technology litigations.
Dr Kumar has previously served as faculty of international relations both in India and the United States. His main foci of instruction include cyber security, international relations, Indo US relations, India’s foreign policy and public opinion, the impact of international information technology standards on national regulations, information technology and development, Cross-Country Impact of Web Accessibility standards, Politics of US Digital Accessibility Policies, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
A widely published scholar-practitioner, Dr Kumar’s papers have appeared in journals and books from prestigious presses. One of his recently published papers relates to international technical accessibility standards and higher education. Another paper addresses India’s public opinion and foreign policy. Dr Kumar’s research has also appeared in edited books published by prestigious presses of Oxford University Press and Palgrave MacMillan that deal with identity and globalization and US foreign policy.
Probal Das Gupta served as a commissioned officer with Indian army’s Gorkha Rifles regiment and spent a decade in conflict zones in Kashmir, northeast India and also in Bhutan. He led counter terrorism operations, served on the Line of Control and worked with local communities.
He has held senior positions in the risk consulting industry, having worked in the US and in India. He has headed business in South Asia and has advised top global and Indian firms in complex environments across the world.
Probal has a master’s degree from Columbia University in New York (USA), where he was a Braun-Myers Fellow and Tata Scholar. He assisted two US ambassadors during the program as part of the fellowship. Probal is presently the Senior Director at a US Multinational working in the field of security management.
His writings on conflicts, terrorism and strategic risks have appeared in the Yale Journal of International Affairs, The Mint, Nikkei Asian Review and The Times of India. He has spoken at seminars and leadership sessions in the US, UK and India.Probal has lived in the US and India. He is currently writing a book involving India, China and the current strategic environment, to be published in 2019.
Anand Malwade is the President and CEO at Cyber Locke, US. Anand has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology, New York where he concentrated in Information Security. He is a subject matter expert on Cyber Security and IT risk management. Anand has more than 20 years of experience within various cyber security domains working in highly regulated financial services verticals in leadership roles such as CISO and Director of Information Security. Anand holds several professional certifications within cyber and risk domains such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GIAC-GCED, GCIH, GCFE, and GMON.
Ranjit has lived a life that most people only dream about. Not in the conventional sense of the phrase, but in the rugged, adventurous, living-on-the-edge sense. He is a Combat Free faller, a scuba-diver, and a skier. He has operated with his team among the icy heights of the Siachen Glacier, the terrorist infested mountains of Jammu & Kashmir and commanded his unit in the treacherous tropical jungle of North East India which is one of the most active insurgency areas of the world.
As the Commanding Officer of 21 Para Special Forces, Ranjit planned and spearheaded the surgical strike Operation Manipur in 2015. He was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal by the President of India for distinguished service during wartime during his command.
Ranjit holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is currently pursuing his Masters in Organisational Management from Canada. In 2019, Ranjit was selected for the Armed Forces Programme offered by the Indian Institute of Management. He has worked in close collaboration with the top business, policy and the academic community. He has completed the rigorous Advanced Computer Security Program certification offered by Stanford University in 2020, and the Comptia Security+ cybersecurity program.
He successfully led multiple high-risk operations and missions in critical and fragile environments, managing and directing teams of over 600 personnel engaged in physical and intelligence operations. He has worked across various roles in policy development, institutional capacity building and government project management. Ranjit has led projects in risk identification and mitigation, resilience and responsiveness, team-building and team coordination in high-threat areas.
Ranjit was selected as an instructor in the Commando Wing, Belgaum – an institute which conducts one of the toughest courses in the world. As the Chief Instructor and Head of Training Team, he was actively involved in the training, formulating policies, curriculum and development and mentoring of more than 2000 officers of Indian and foreign armies. He spearheaded pan-India testing and selection of teams for international engagement exercises. Incidentally, he was also the recipient of the Best Student title out of more than 250 trainees during his own training in the Commando Course at Commando Wing ten years before.
Ranjit was selected for multiple military international exchange exercises, and has trained with the armies of the US, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belorussia, Bangladesh and Indonesia, building a knowledge base in international best practices.
After serving as Director, Army Recruiting Office, Ranjit worked in the corporate sector, leading security projects and assignments. As the Associate General Manager, Adani Power Limited, he was responsible for securing the assets and effecting incident-free operations in an $800 mn division of the company. Ranjit served as the Global Operations and Project Lead for Security with Barclays Bank and was actively involved in the planning and implementation of initiatives related to the protection of people, assets and infrastructure, maintenance of critical lines of communication during the pandemic to ensure uninterrupted operations and implementing Barclays’ global best practices.
In his personal life, Ranjit is a voracious reader, and is in the process of completing his first novel based on his experiences with the armed forces and his travels and interactions with people across the globe. He also plays the guitar, writes about themes in AI, National Security, and ethics. He has over 550 skydives and likes to run and cycle whenever possible.
Sundeep is a military veteran with extensive experience in counter-insurgency, urban warfare, counter-terrorism and hostage rescue missions. He was commissioned into the prestigious Fifth Battalion of the 11th Gorkha Rifles, a regiment that has seen action in all of post-Independence India’s operations. He has nine years of combat experience in urban warfare and Line of Control operations in Jammu and Kashmir and counter-insurgency operations in the North East. Sundeep commanded a company in a rebel-held territory as a part of the Indian Army contingent deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo between 2006 to 2007 in the North Kivu district as a part of the United Nation’s peacekeeping mission.
Sundeep was the Second-in-Command of the 51 Special Action Group (SAG), the strike arm of the elite National Security Guard, between 2007 and 2010. His unit was deployed in Operation Black Tornado on the night of November 26, 2008. Sundeep led the operations at the Chabad House which resulted in the neutralisation of two terrorists.
Sundeep is presently the Director of EduMount International School, Nainital and a practising advocate at the High Court of Uttarakhand. He was a consultant to the highly acclaimed web series ‘State of Siege 26/11’ released on the OTT platform ZEE5
Anil served as a fighter pilot in the IAF for three decades. He has extensively flown the MiG 21s, MiG 23 BNs, and MiG 27s in all operational roles and situations. He is an alumnus of the coveted National Defence Academy. He is also an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, where he did his Masters in Defence and Management Studies from Madras University. He went on to do his M Phil at Army War College, Mhow, where he specialized in Defence and Strategic Studies from DAVV, Indore.
He has held several prestigious appointments in the IAF. He was selected to be a member of the SKAT (Surya Kiran Formation Aerobatic Team) and has performed 9 aircraft formation aerobatic displays all over India and in five foreign nations. He was the Flight Commander of SKAT, as well as two Fighter Squadrons. He commanded a Combat Unit in the Western Sector and has also been the Station Commander of a Combat Base in the Western Sector. He has expertise in planning and operations in Maritime Air Operations. He was also the Chief Instructor for the Higher Air Command Course during which he trained senior officers of the three Defence Services, on matters of Global and Regional Dynamics, Strategic Planning, War Gaming and Operational Planning of Force Structure Application. He has been a Qualified Flying Instructor and has trained many ab-initio budding pilots for military operational flying He was deputed for diplomatic visits to a few countries for military interaction.
Gp Capt Gulrajani has been awarded two commendations for his distinguished service and three stars for accident-free flying. Presently he trains budding pilots for the civilian sector.
Rahul is an Indian Army veteran and results-oriented Security, Crisis Management and BCP professional with more than 20 years of versatile experience. He is presently Head Security, Crisis Management and Administration, South Asia for Boehringer Ingelheim. He brings deep experience in designing and implementing security policies/strategies, internal investigations, safety and security audits, proprietary information protection, crisis management, travel security, project management and business continuity planning. He is a certified LEAD Auditor for ISO 22301. In his previous assignment, he headed the regional Security and Crisis Management team for Deloitte USI. He has served in various sectors such as Aviation and Hospitality.
Rahul is an alumnus of Officers Training Academy, Chennai. He has served in the Indian Army for seven years as an Officer in Infantry Regiment at various levels such as Company Commander, Adjutant and Staff officer. He was part of IMTRAT and holds a certificate in Weapons and Tactics from Infantry School, Mhow.
Indu Saxena is Deputy Director with additional responsibilities of Acting Director at the Consortium of Indo-Pacific Researchers, US. She is the Board member at the American Political Science Association. Indu Saxena is a geopolitical and security analyst based in New Jersey. She holds PhD in political science. Her thesis focuses on terrorism and human rights. She has worked as an assistant professor in political science at university and college level. She is a magna cum laude master’s graduate in global affairs from Rutgers University, US. She has published and presented her work at international journals and research platforms. She has also made presentations at international webinar and conferences. Her research interest lies in international security, Indo-Pacific security, US grand strategy in South Asia, and South Asia geopolitics.
Amit is the Chief Security Officer and Head, Adani Airports. He is a C Suite leader in the aviation security industry. He specializes in business continuity management, fortifying large enterprises under challenging security conditions and regulatory stipulations. He works to transform the governance processes, regulatory compliance and loss prevention. Amit is an expert in aviation security, cargo & supply chain security, Insider Threat Mitigation, policy advocacy, building A-Teams, IATA SeMS, Security Automation Technologies, CPTED, Executive Protection and Security Governance.
Amit has a Master of Science, Defense & Strategic Studies from the University of Madras. He also has a Master of Philosophy, Political Science from Osmania University. He has authored several award winning essays and published articles in peer reviewed journals of repute.
In the Indian Army Amit served with the PARA Special Forces regiment in varying capacities. He led several Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorist operations in conflict areas such as Jammu and Kashmir. He has operated with the Special Forces units of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Singapore, Thailand, France, US, UK, Afghanistan, KSA, Oman, and Jordan. Amit commanded a Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Shupiyan, South Kashmir, in an intense Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorism environment. He was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal in 2013 for exceptional leadership and devotion to duty in the battlefield while commanding a battalion in a Counter Insurgency environment in Kashmir.
Amit has worked at the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and was deployed to Democratic Republic of Congo as a Military Observer. He also served as the Director, Foreign Training, Ministry of Defence (Army). At the Ministry of Defense Amit chaired various international defense cooperation briefings in concert with Defense Attaches of Friendly Foreign Countries, and developed defense diplomacy initiatives involving joint training exercises. He was assigned as the Subject Matter Expert on Counter Terrorism and Special Operations (Associate Professor equivalent), at the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, University of Madras. Amit as the Director of Course Development conceived and implemented the curriculum for Masters in Defense and Strategic Studies involving the verticals of International Relations, National Security and Contemporary Warfare. He attended the Staff Course at DSSC, Wellington and the Higher Air Command Course at the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad. Amit has delivered several lectures at military institutions and multinational organizations.

Capt Sanjay Sharma has served as a short service commissioned officer with Indian Army’s Corps of Army Air Defence and during his military tenure also participated in Operation Vijay during Kargil War in 1999.
Capt Sanjay Sharma is presently the Global Security Head at Wipro Ltd. Wipro has approximately 2,50,000 employees spread across multiple facilities in nearly 60+ countries. He has held senior positions in the Corporate Security, Facility Management and Corporate Real Estate Services across top MNCs and has more than 27 years of rich experience. Prior to Wipro he has also served in senior leadership positions at Nestle India Ltd, General Electric, American Express, IBM, Citigroup, and Standard Chartered Bank. Sanjay has very good understanding of Corporate Crisis Management, Risk Management, Travel Security and Business Continuity.
Capt Sanjay Sharma holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune. He has recently completed the Law (LLB) Degree from the University of Mumbai. He is a graduate in science from Lucknow University. He has also obtained Diploma in Weapon Systems from Berhampur University and Diploma in Cyber Security from National Forensics Sciences University, Gujarat.
Professionally he is a Certified Physical Security Professional and has also obtained Lead Auditor Certification on Information Security Standard ISO 27001. He is also a Certified Skill Assessor from Security Skills Council created under National Skill Development Corporation. He also has a “C certificate” from NCC Air Wing and enjoys flying gliders.
Sanjay delivers talks at various seminars and leadership sessions at FICCI, IFSEC and other Industry forums in area of Corporate Security, Security of Women, Inclusion and Diversity in Corporate Security function, Private Security legislation in India and the changing role of Corporate Security function etc. He is an active participant in OSAC forums and also has CSO membership of ASIS International. He also has active membership of IISSM and an honorary membership from CAPSI.
His article on “Changing Role of CSO” was published in Security Today magazine. He has also published 10 articles across various themes of Corporate Security on LinkedIn. He has also been instrumental in identifying and deploying many physical security technology solutions during his corporate tenure.
Col Razzaque Adil grew up in North East India during one of the volatile periods of the region’s history. He was commissioned as an Infantry officer into a Gorkha Rifles battalion which he later went to command. Besides gaining extensive experience in active military operations while serving three tours in Jammu & Kashmir and two tours in North-East India, he has also led a Special Forces team in East Africa as part of the United Nations Peace Keeping Force. He has gained extensive experience in anti-terrorist operations in urban terrain while serving with both 51 & 52 SAG of the National Security Guards (NSG) where he not only led their elite Sniper teams but also specialized in Aviation Security & Counter Train-Hijack operations.
While serving as a staff officer at a counter-insurgency HQ in his native state- Assam, he was member of the team that negotiated surrender terms for some of the top militant leaders of the region. The experience gained during this process formed part of his prize-winning dissertation on Cultural Intelligence at the Indian Army’s Intelligence School at Pune. Today, he continues his pursuit of knowledge in the domain of Cultural Intelligence & the Geo-Strategic realities of North-East India including the region’s long term security issues.
An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, he also holds active certifications from both the American Society of Industrial Security (CPP) as well as the Business Continuity Institute at UK (CBCI). He heads the Military Liaison chair for ASIS’s NCR chapter and is also a passionate advocate for Community Based Disaster Rescue & Recovery (DRR) in which he holds the prestigious certificate jointly provided by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC-TISS DM Course)
